There are 3 potential reasons for concussion: Direct impact brain and injury, acceleration-deceleration brain injury, blast brain injury.
1. Direct impact is caused normally by direct trauma to the head, which results in a shake of the brain. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) resulting in persistent PCS has lasting effects on cognition, memory, learning and executive function. It can also affect stamina, can result in a blurred vision and even vertigo.
2. Acceleration-deceleration injury car accident, whiplash scenario.
3. Blast Brain injury – very common in a military. PTSD can result in concussion.
Autonomic nervous system damage can also cause blood pressure fluctuations. In my practice I had to deal with a customer who had a high speed collision and that resulted in constant blood pressure and pulse fluctuations. PSC can also result in sleep impairment, which can start with mild disorder and gradually increase to more severe problem. People can also experience light sensitivity.
Types of treatments we offer:
Neurokinetic Therapy- improves muscle tension problems. Helps to resolve blurred vision, vertigo problems.
Craniosacral- calms the brain by engaging the biorhythm. Release of cervical nerve reduces post concussion nerve pains.
Laser Therapy aids for nerve and soft tissue restoration. Reducing toxicity by oxygenation of the blood around the skull.
Laser therapy also helps to treat neck muscles, which are damaged after the whiplash. Part of the problem with a concussion is that neck muscles are tightening up and blocking the blood vessels. It shrinks the drainage path from the brain, which may cause poor oxygen supply and potential swelling of the brain and surrounding tissues.
Neck muscles can also be released manually by using Neurokinetic therapy protocols.
